Our regulators

We comply with strict industry regulations that govern Sodium Cyanide manufacture and storage operations, including:

  • Department of Environment and Conservation – Environmental Licence
  • Department of Mines and Petroleum – dangerous goods site licence issued in accordance with the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004 Regulations
  • Ministerial Conditions – Environmental Protection Act managed by the Department of Environment and Conservation
  • Department of Health – Poisons Permit
  • NICNAS Registration – National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme
  • Groundwater Extraction Licence
  • Various state and local government planning approvals

International certification

We are a founding signatory of the International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI), a voluntary industry body of companies that manufacture, transport, and use cyanide in the production of gold.

Our certification can be found on the ICMI website under producer and transport signatories.

Our production operation is fully certified under the ICMI Code, which was developed under the direction of the United National Environment Program and is administered by the ICMI.

Since the inception of the ICMI, we have achieved certification for our supply chains in Australia and international transport routes.

Responsible care

As a member of Chemicals Australia, we adopt the Chemistry Australia Responsible Care® Program to drive continuous performance improvements and support the role of chemistry in creating a safer, more sustainable world.

The program is part of the International Council of Chemical Association’s Responsible Care® Program.
